Santoro
The Wellness Center's
Director of Clinical Nutrition
and The Wellness Weight
Program
When
it comes to the pursuit
of life, liberty, and
happiness, all men, women,
and children are created
equal. Unfortunately,
the same is not true in
the area of nutrition.
Due to a wide range of
factors, people have vastly
different nutritional
needs. Health food for
you could be junk food
to someone else. Which
is why everyone needs
the type of individualized
nutritional guidance Maria
Santoro practices full-time
at The Heart Diabetes
& Weight Loss Centers
of New York as Director
of Clinical Nutrition
and Director of the Wellness
Weight Loss Program.
Not
Dieting ... a new prescription
for complete wellness
With
a degree in clinical nutrition
and nearly 10 years experience
in exercise therapy, Maria
is far more than a dietician.
Together with Wellness
Center Director Dr. Frederic
J. Vagnini, Maria will
identify your unique nutritional
needs, develop a customized
regimen of vitamin and
mineral supplementation,
exercise, and lifestyle
adjustments, and help
you gain control of your
health.
First
you learn, then you eat
...
Before
you can achieve this control,
certain information is
critical, including which
foods are actually good
for you, and in what quantities.
During your initial visit,
Maria will document your
medical history and pertinent
personal information concerning
your job and lifestyle.
Following
that, she'll determine
your nutritional requirements
through a series of comprehensive
and painless procedures,
including:
 |
The
Wellness Center's
exclusive Nutri-Scan
which provides a highly-sophisticated
nutritional assessmentof
your blood's functional
vitamin and mineral
levels, including
antioxidants |
 |
Food
sensitivity and allergy
testing, to see which
foods pose a problem
for you |
 |
Candida/yeast
analysis, to test
for possible intestinal
irregularieites |
 |
Diabetes
testing, to determine
if you require an
insulin-regulating
program; fur job and
lifestyle |
 |
Body
composition analysis
to determine levels
of muscle and fat |
Once
your unique nutritional
profile is developed,
Maria, in conjunction
with Dr. Vagnini, will
develop a specialized
de-toxification program
to rid your body of damaging,
energy-depleting toxins,
and improve overall cellular
bio-chemistry. Next, she'll
create an individualized
program of proper eating
and nutritional supplementation
to bring vitamin and minerals
to desired levels.
